expect ran
We didn't expect him to do that well going short. He ran so well.
horse horses reinforce trains wants
With a Giant's Causeway, it makes you feel good. We don't want to reinforce the speed. He trains like a horse that wants to go farther. There are a lot of opportunities for horses when they develop.
anxious best everybody goes horse run work
It's a lot of work that goes into getting a horse ready, and we're really anxious to see Giacomo run again. I think everybody is. I feel the best is yet to come from this horse.
amount best
It's always best to have the least amount of pressure. I kind of like just going in there and that's it.
good stay
It makes sense to stay here. We have such good weather.
care exciting race tom took
Tom Meeker really took care of us. Being in this race was exciting and we really appreciated everything he did for us.
far last lead looks perfect three
I thought she was back a little far last time. It looks like three lengths off the lead is perfect for her.
eighth forward mile moved race time training
Going a mile and an eighth first time out was pretty tough, but that race moved him a lot more forward than I could have just training him.
aggressive catch classy front gets horse mind sees trick wants
He's a very classy horse. It's just when he sees a horse in front of him, he gets that horse on his mind and wants to go catch him. So the trick is to not let him get too aggressive about that.
fit trained trying worked
He worked very well. He's always trained well. I think he's a pretty fit horse. I'm just trying to keep him there.
early easy four nice ready san worked
He went well, nice and even. It's a little early to say if he will make the San Fernando. There could be other options. This was only his first six-furlong work. He had worked four times at a half-mile, so he was ready to go an easy six.
brought chance exciting knew race run training watched
He had been training very well for the race, and all indications were that he was going to run well. I had never watched him run but, from what I had read about him, it was exciting to get a chance to train him. I knew that if he brought his A game, he would be very competitive.
blowing reason work worked
He wasn't blowing at all. The only reason I had someone in the work with him is because he's so lazy. When he worked alone, he went in 1:17.
behind loves pedigree potential talent
He has the breeding, a lot of pedigree behind him. He has a lot of talent; he loves going long. I think the potential is unlimited.
