It's been very difficult to strategize with Michelle because I haven't seen her compete but one time, and that wasn't a legitimate competition.

I thought she still had a chance (after her imperfect program). I've been around a long time, seen a lot of mistakes made. I think it's obvious the standard of skating overall was not particularly good, definitely not as good as the short program.

Sometimes I think she's a little too intense. I encourage her to go out more and act her age, but she doesn't seem interested.

Her mother called me, and I think she was perhaps a little apprehensive about my reaction. But I was very positive. I was only too pleased.
