anyway couple field guys might ready
We might put a couple young guys on the field, ... And they might not be ready to play. But we'll put them on the field anyway and give them a chance.
compete expected guys immediate positions starting
We feel we addressed positions where we have immediate needs. All of these guys are expected to come in and compete for starting positions right away.
bill bottom guy knows system
Bill knows our system as well as anyone. That's why he was chosen. Bottom line: He is a guy who will be able to get it done.
along good guy jim miss understood work
You don't work with a guy that long and don't become very good friends. He really understood me and I understood him. That's probably why we got along so well. We'll miss Jim and his personality and his intellect.
develop guys maximize
I think he will develop these guys well. I think he will maximize (the players') abilities. He's a high-energy guy and very positive.
excited guy hire third time tried
He's a guy I have tried to hire on two other occasions, so the third time was a charm. I'm excited to have him on our staff.
covering good guys staff sure together work
I feel really good about the guys we've hired. Offensively, we need to get out here as a staff and work together and just make sure we are covering all of our bases.
defense guys helping huge several successful
Those two guys were a huge part of the successful defense we had here for several years. And now they are helping out up there too, which is nice.
based best boot clearly guys haunt haunted knowing kyle maybe picked running sleep
To this day, I'd still have Kyle Orton running that boot on the corner, by himself, clearly having picked up the first down. It doesn't haunt me. I sleep well at night, knowing we did the best thing we could do under the circumstances. Based on what some of the other guys (on the team) say, maybe that haunted them.
guys paul positions sure
It's unfortunate because we wanted Paul in there to make sure guys are in the right positions at the right time.
ball bunch changing chasing direction greatest guy guys offensive side takes
when the guy intercepts the ball and he takes off on that side of the field, you've got a bunch of offensive guys chasing him. Once he reversed, those offensive linemen aren't the greatest at changing direction and chasing him down.
ball came edge guys heck position themselves win
They had the edge early, but our guys came back and competed and got themselves in a position to win the ball game. It was a heck of a game.
assistant coaching cut detail gone graduate great guy job teeth thrilled
Joel did a great job as a graduate assistant here and has gone on to cut his teeth in the coaching profession. He's a detail guy with a lot of energy, and we're thrilled to have him back at Purdue.
according early energy game guys improve late later level maybe pick playing quarter result second substitute team until wait
I think that maybe if those guys get more playing time, they'll improve and the energy level will pick up and we can become a better team as a result of doing that. That was according to plan. We weren't going to wait until late second quarter to substitute or later in the game to substitute; we wanted to substitute early and often.
