biggest challenge coach finish intensity maintain start team
That's the way, as a coach, you always wanted your team to start out like. We just didn't finish the game. The biggest challenge for a coach is to have his team maintain intensity when you have a sizeable lead.
earlier extremely four hard lines period periods skate skated skating slow teams tendencies three year
When we skate like that for three periods, we're extremely happy. We had tendencies earlier in the year to slow down or take a period off. (Tuesday) we skated hard all three periods and got all four lines involved. When we're skating (like that) teams don't know our first line from our fourth.
five gave great improvement involved players playing solid team thinking
It gave our team some great competition. And our players who are thinking about playing juniors, it gave them great exposure. There are a lot of very solid teams. I can see the improvement in the five years I've been involved here.
almost finally four game guys helps jump lines period rolling stronger teams third three using wear weeks
The first period was pretty ugly, we'd been off for almost three weeks - I'm not using that as an excuse, but we were flat-footed. But as the game went on we got stronger and stronger ... I think rolling four lines helps wear down other teams and our guys had the jump to finally get going in the third period.
anybody beat extremely great heading played prospects puck
I think our prospects are great heading in, but anybody can beat anybody. (Against) Cranbrook we played extremely well, but lost. You need a little puck luck.
couple good single tough
When you only get 11 shots, those are tough games, we say that every single time. He had to make a couple of good saves.
great job puck
We need to do a better job of getting the puck to the slot. There weren't many opportunities for us. They did a great job defensively.
goal undefeated work
That's a big goal for us, going undefeated in the conference. We need to come out and work our butts off every shift. That's Marquette hockey.
facing matter periods score stronger three tomorrow tougher
Tomorrow we have even a tougher task. We are probably going to be facing a stronger team. We have to play for three periods no matter what the score is. You would think being 14-0 I would be happy, but right now I'm not.
soon using
We started out really quick, using our speed. As soon as they scored the first goal, we went a little flat.
anyone early found game guys respect
We always have to respect our opponent. Our guys found out early in the game that they can't take anyone lightly.
bad gotta guys lead learn thinking
A lot of ... bad penalties. Our guys got the lead and then started thinking about getting payback. We gotta learn to play better disciplined hockey.
against good quality ranked series stage state wins
A very good series for us against a quality team. They're ranked 10th in the state and to get two wins is very important for us at this stage in the season.
advantage skated took
I think we skated better shorthanded than we did five-on-five. (We) took advantage of (our) opportunities.
