beat eight eventually five learn walks
We had eight walks. Five of them scored. Walks beat you. Eventually you have to learn from it.
beat competition figure love trying
You get to teach. You get to manage. I love the competition and I love the idea of trying to figure out how to beat the other team.
ask beaten catch entire games guy obviously productive sure tough year
You obviously have to be productive to be in the lineup every day. We want to make sure he is productive the entire year. It's tough to ask a guy to catch 120 games a year when he hasn't done it before. He's just not used to that, getting beaten up and fatigued.
beat home run second solo third
The solo (homer) doesn't kill you in the second inning. It's the home run in the third that really hurts. Howard beat him today.
beat good last looking
He's a good looking young hitter. He showed that last year. We made some mistakes, and he beat us.
beat good
He had good stuff, but Howard beat him.
fun watching work
Watching our shortstops go to work was kind of fun to watch.
believe camp pitch
We're going to see how he does out of the bullpen. It's just kind of a different role, some flexibility for us. He has pitched very well in camp and we believe we can pitch him anywhere.
enjoyable hard meetings talk watch
What's really enjoyable to watch is how hard they play. We talk about it every day and we have meetings about how hard we're playing.
carry innings whether
We're going to have innings for all our starters, whether we carry 11 or 12 pitchers.
ahead asleep base call fall forget guy hard knowing learned runners thinking
We fall asleep and the guy scores. You can't forget who's on base. I call it always thinking ahead and knowing your base runners and knowing what the run means. We learned the hard way. Again.
fall guy
We fall asleep, and the guy scores. It can't happen.
catch concern played ways
We're a ways away with him. My concern with him was he already played catch and didn't tell us.
center tough
We have to get one of our center fielders going. They are young, and it's a tough game, but we have to get them going.
