caught kids money
In L.A., it's easy to get caught up in what you look like or how much money you have, and those aren't values I want my kids to adopt.
kids thinking views
Because I don't think it's very healthy to hold people to idealized views. I think that's a certain stage in life, something kids do. You have to go through that idealistic phase with your parents, but at a certain point, you need to see people as just people.
kids passion feelings
I want my kids to experience passion. I want them to see that I have things I feel passionate about because it is such a great feeling to really love something.
children athlete kids
Don't live vicariously through your kids or try to shape them into who you wanted to be, like the popular kid or an athlete. Children should be given the opportunity to be themselves.
kids looks want
In L.A., it's easy to get caught up in what you look like or how much money you have, and those aren't values I want my kids to adopt.
kids boys emotional
I take parenting incredibly seriously. I want to be there for my kids and help them navigate the world, and develop skills, emotional intelligence, to enjoy life, and I'm lucky to be able to do that and have two healthy, normal boys.
meaningful kids hard-work
A relationship is hard in and of itself. And having kids is really hard work, but I think it's really meaningful, as is a relationship. But they all take work.
sports kids thinking
Can they do both? That's a huge balance, I think, with kids- trying to find the right- it's everything, you know, it's social life, it's academics, it's sports.
children character kids
As a parent, you have to figure out how to shape your kid's character. You want to have human beings who learn about good character. You have to be able to see your child with clarity, see the good side and the bad side of them, and work on the bad side and make them better so they fulfill their potential.
breakfast figure goes great hard life son sure takes taking television time work
I'm taking the time to figure it out and making sure I'm with my son in the morning, and I'm getting him breakfast before he goes to school. It just takes a lot of energy, but doing a television show is such a great life for an actor, and that's why I wanted to do it, because it's hard if every time you work you have to go to a different city, when you don't live and work in the same place.
figure love opportunity work
Every week it's another opportunity to really make that work and figure out how to make it work better. And I love that it's like theater, too, and the audience, and it's so short. It's only 20 minutes. It's like a haiku or something.
dad decision funny hard humor influenced irish life man sure taught wit
My dad was a very funny man - he's the one who taught me life would be awfully hard without humor! I'm sure his Irish wit in some way influenced my decision to become an actress.
available balance chicago concerns culture good living parental people roles trying work
Well, some of it, I think, is culture and movie culture, and the kind of roles that people write, and what's available and what's available to me living in Chicago and trying to balance my own parental concerns with- you know, being a good parent and trying to make it work and do this.
interested liked nice parenting script stuff talked
There was a lot of that in the script already, which was nice. It's something I'm interested in, and that was one of the things I liked about the movie, that it had parenting stuff in it. So we talked about it, what really is going on, and that was nice to have those kind of discussions.
