There's something special about playing in the Fiesta Bowl, no doubt about it. The seniors have done so much here (becoming the first group to win four bowl games and tying a school-record with 43 wins as a class), I wanted to make sure we sent them out as champions.

I've always known this group has character, but you know, maybe it was revealed again, with them being down, you know, it not looking so wonderful. But they kept playing and they believe in each other.

What I like about this group is that they all feel they can come in and make an impact. They know they've got to get caught up in the system and move ahead with their strength and speed and knowledge. But this class is spread so evenly in all areas that they all feel they will have that opportunity to come in and compete.

I think our guys have a handle on the fact that while the national championship is a goal, what work you do today determines whether you have a chance at that or not. And so I think they're a pretty focused group on living for the moment, getting better.

That's a pretty high standard to meet, but I guess because this group is a little fresher in my mind they seem extra special.

We felt going into the Big Ten season if we could evolve to the fact where we always had a 100-yard back, then we could probably spread the ball around enough to have a good offense. We're starting to get consistent with that.

We felt coming in ... he was a guy that was really into the game of football and you could just tell as he got here that he was maybe further advanced than the normal guy. ... Now he's got to obviously take the next step as we go into the Big Ten, but I think he's done a nice job.
