city gulf surprised taken understand
I was kind of surprised and taken aback by it and very appreciative of it. So, I think they understand what our team's going through and what the city is going through in the Gulf Coast.
alive best city coast football games gulf money name orleans raising region saints team win winning
I think the best thing we can do as a football team to keep the Saints name out there, to keep the city and the Gulf Coast region out there, is to win games. I think that this team, we can keep the Gulf Coast and New Orleans alive by just winning football games and raising a lot of money for the area.
bad coast environment everybody good gulf handling job lying tough win
It was a bad environment to win in, and I'd be lying if I didn't say that. And, we didn't do a very good job of handling it. It's a tough situation, just like everybody on the Gulf Coast all the way to Florida.
cause great gulf job money nfl raising
The whole thing was a great cause and the NFL did a great job of raising money for the Gulf Coast,
bring gulf happiness people
It kind of put everything in perspective, ... Football's a game, and if it's going to bring some happiness to people around the Gulf Coast, then we should play for these people, and play for ourselves.
coast gone gulf last orleans people players sorry weeks
You don't have to feel sorry for this team. The players are going to do the thing they want to do, and that's play football. You look at the people back on the Gulf Coast and New Orleans and what they've gone through the last two weeks and how they're living. Don't feel sorry for us. We're fine.
agree full giving happen players
The players know how I feel, and I think they agree with me. If (quitting and not giving full effort) does happen with one or two players, we'll get them out of here.
answered phone wife
The phone rang, and my wife answered it. She said Scott was on the phone, and she kind of mumbled a (last) name. I said, 'Tell him I'm not home.
improve
There are a lot of things we can improve on,
against ball chance football hold played win
When you hold the ball for 36 minutes, you have the chance to win football games. We played like we wanted to play (against Buffalo). That's how we played against Carolina.
call chicken
The play at the end, the call by the officials, is flat-out chicken (. . .),
bad cut few last played traveling weeks
We've got to cut those things out. Let's not make excuses. Us traveling the last few weeks really don't have anything to do with our play on the field. We've played bad the last two weeks.
close equal felt football issue money obviously order team trade value
We thought that Darren's value to this football team was a lot, ... It was just a money issue at the time, and in order to trade Darren we wanted equal value. The only team that was even close was Dallas. But obviously we felt it wasn't equal value what they wanted to offer.
bad dropped field five missed worse
We had 13 penalties, five turnovers, two missed field goals, dropped balls, missed tackles and bad coverage. It doesn't get any worse than that.
