entire game games good maintain starts taken time tonight
This was the first time Hilton's taken over a game in his entire career. He's had good starts to games before. Tonight was the first time he's been able to maintain it throughout.
difficult games league seen tough walks
To get through this league is one of the most difficult walks you're going to have. I've never seen a league like this. I've never seen as many tough, tough games as this league has provided.
games johnny number ray win won
When you look out there and see Ray (Allen), Mec (Emeka Okafor), Johnny Gwynn ... any of those people. You don?t win the number of games we?ve been able to win or the championships we?ve won without those players,
basketball capable complete five games happen hope longer needs though together truly
We've probably had five complete games all year. I truly expect, though - and I hope it happens, and it needs to happen - for us to have a bust-out game where we put together a lot of longer stretches of the kind of basketball I think we are capable of.
decided everybody games goes harder overall settled state
To state the obvious, overall we were pretty good. We're now 5-0 in games decided by 10 and under. There's got to be something to that. That goes back to Maui. It's harder here (in the Big East) because now everybody is settled in.
boston college competition fear flat games last league lost ourselves played raise start year
My fear is being flat (for the start of league play). When we lost to Boston College last year to start the Big East, we couldn't raise ourselves to that level. Having not played that kind of competition recently, I have concerns, but we have to play these two games first.
basketball fortunate games involved
Of 1,100 basketball games I've been fortunate to be involved with, I've never been involved in anything like that.
games good shape winning
If we keep winning 30 games a year, I think we'll be in pretty good shape and we'll win our championships again.
games obviously six
Six games to go. Obviously there is significance to it.
came finish fourth game games last league means playing somebody surprise three tough tournament
We did it, but it's tough to get all the way through. It won't surprise me to see somebody playing a fourth game in four days, the league is like that this year. This was the most games that came down to last three minutes, at least our most in 10 years and yet we were 27-2, which means we were there to finish the deal. But in a one-game tournament anything can happen.
felt games good shape team walking win winning
I still felt right to the end we would win the game. This team is walking out 30-4. If we keep winning 30 games a year, I think we'll be in pretty good shape and we'll win our championships again. We didn't get there this year, but we'll do that.
emotional games
That was one of the most exhausting, emotional games I've ever been in.
basketball competition display fortunate fought games gave gone incredible involved possibly quite teams
Well, 1,100 basketball games I've been fortunate to be involved with (and) I've never been quite involved with something like that. It was just an incredible game fought by two teams who gave it everything they possibly have. And I don't know if the teams could have gone another minute. I thought it was an incredible display of what competition is all about.
games hard looks practice works
Marcus Johnson, who works very hard in our practice sessions, looks better in games than he does in practice. I like that.
