asking atlanta beach change chicago cities dallas fly guy houston kid planes player recruit recruiting stop three virginia
You don't want to recruit a guy who has to change two, three planes to get here. You can get on a plane in Chicago and get here (directly). You can be in Dallas or Houston and fly right here. That's a different recruiting than asking a player from Pennsylvania. He has to stop in Chicago and change planes. You don't recruit Pennsylvania. You don't recruit to Tidewater Beach because the kid from Virginia has to fly to Atlanta first. But the kid from Atlanta can fly non-stop. I look for cities where it's a non-stop flight.
asking christ deciding god help jesus knew mental mentally players prayed row win
I told them, 'Why not do 20 of these in a row today?' ... It was the players deciding to do it without mental errors. I prayed to Jesus Christ to try to let them play mentally like they practiced. If I had any help at all, it was asking God not to win (or) not to play good, but let the players play like I knew they could play mentally.
june thrilled
I'm thrilled to be here. If June wasn't here, then I wouldn't be here.
guys nobody people speaks volumes
That (jersey number) 45 (Moe) is unbelievable. I can take 10 scholarships and not come back with a 45. I could come back with 10 guys and nobody would play like 45. That's unbelievable. That speaks volumes for people on the island.
both game leaves prepare study teams television
Once a coach, always a coach. I don't think it ever leaves you. When I was a television analyst, I would study both teams and prepare a game plan, just as I did when I was coaching.
becomes guy passionate rest trying
not only important to them, it may be passionate to them. That's what you really need. I can see where it becomes important to another guy every day. I can see where it becomes passionate to a different person some days. When it becomes passionate to 11 players, you're different from the rest of the teams. We're trying to get in that direction.
calls coming create defensive fast ready twice upbeat
an upbeat tempo. They keep coming and coming and coming. You'd better be ready to play in a hurry. We're going to have to make defensive calls twice as fast as we've made 'em. We're going to have to get in and out of the huddle twice as fast. They create a lot of problems.
change florida georgia happened offer program ready recruiting schools texas time university
What's happened is all recruiting has changed. By the time you were ready to offer scholarships, the University of Texas was already done (recruiting). Georgia was done. Florida was done. All of the big schools were done. We had to change our program and our philosophy.
eat home watch waves
Even if I get home at 2 or 3 in the morning, things are still jumping. I usually just get something to eat and watch the waves come in.
climb enjoyment glad mountain point underdog underdogs
Being an underdog by one point or 50, it doesn't matter. I'm glad we are an underdog. Underdogs have more that they can achieve. They have more enjoyment if they're able to climb to the mountain top.
ability both help last watching year
With his ability we're going to look at him at both spots. We haven't done anything yet, but just watching him last year I think he can help us at both places.
No question, we've been doing a lot of studying.
god grand pay thank worked
Thank God it worked out and I didn't have to pay his salary. He was making about 20 grand a year.
ready stop weapons
You've got to stop their weapons and they have weapons everywhere. You have to have all weapons accounted for. I think we're ready to go.
