Jerry Michael Glanvilleis a former American football player and coach, former NASCAR driver and owner, and sportscaster. He served as Head Football Coach of the Houston Oilers from 1986 to 1990 and the Atlanta Falcons from 1990 to 1994, compiling a career NFL record of 63–73. What's happened is all recruiting has changed. By the time you were ready to offer scholarships, the University of Texas was already done (recruiting). Georgia was done. Florida was done. All of the big schools were done. We had to change our program and our philosophy.

Even if I get home at 2 or 3 in the morning, things are still jumping. I usually just get something to eat and watch the waves come in.

Pro wise, ... you thrive on it. I told the team, 'I hope they all stand and boo. If they boo us, that means you've accomplished something.' In the pros, our teams fed off the animosity of the crowd to make you play better. That was the fun of playing on the road. We actually played better.

Our defense is only as good as the nose plays. If the nose doesn't play any good, the defense isn't any good.
climb enjoyment glad mountain point underdog underdogs
Being an underdog by one point or 50, it doesn't matter. I'm glad we are an underdog. Underdogs have more that they can achieve. They have more enjoyment if they're able to climb to the mountain top.

I was honored he asked me, but I didn't feel bad about turning him down. Woody turned me down as a player. He rejected me.

We were a 17-point underdog (against Houston). For pro football, that's huge.

We're all so much better than a year ago. We're coming down running. We wanted to get there a year ago, but I think we can now. I can tell already everybody is light years from where we were.

June was a quarterback, but he went to all of my meetings. He liked what we did, and he studied it.

We get to do what we do best in his stadium. That gets the players motivated.
