biggest few good hopefully key last pitching seasons start though
Getting off to a good start is key for us. The last few seasons have been rough, and for the pitching to come though like it has is the biggest key. The big start is what we need and hopefully we can keep it going.

I've been hitting the ball hard. I've hit it hard and gotten out a few times. You go through that, but the important thing is that you keep going with the approach that works for you and hopefully they'll fall more times than they don't.

At some point you have to get away from the game and enjoy your life. I like to golf and travel, and take a good three weeks off before I start lifting.

Confidence is something I've always had and something I'll probably never lose. I've never taken it for granted when I had success, but I really feel like I'm in a different position now. I don't think I'll ever lose confidence -- I'll just have more preparation.

I was the guy who came up, and J.C. made some good pitches. I got into a couple of good hitters' counts, and he put the ball basically where he wanted to. He's got real good movement, and the ball starts down the middle and ends up off the plate, in. He made good pitches and he beat me there.

It feels great. It's coming together the best I think it can. I'm taking it in small steps. It's frustrating because I have to take it slow. I want to be out there as much as anybody. Hopefully, I can get out there Opening Day.

My agent loved it because my name was flying around everywhere. My dad was looking at the internet every day. But I didn't pay attention. I was busy trying to become the player I know I can be. I was always setting myself up (mentally) to be a Mariner. I was never setting myself up to be traded.
