I wanted the public to know that there is a difference between Vermillion and Yankton cable rates. It's pretty sad that without competition in Vermillion they can charge whatever they want.

We're paying $44.95 for the exact same package, and it's pretty obvious that Vermillion costumers are subsidizing Yankton. As a council, I wish we could look at anything possible to correct that situation, even if we have to encourage people going on satellite. Also, in four years, I know it's over a 30 percent increase. How can you justify a 30 percent increase in Vermillion rates in four years?

I hope you go back and understand that as a city, I think we are offended by the rates we are paying. The next thing I'll do is ask the city manager to contact these other companies and see if we can get other competition in town.
