ball basket chest defense fall four good happened missing normally offensive ourselves pound remember row score shots team three understand
When you score that little in a quarter, it's probably part defense and part you're missing some shots that you normally make. So we're not going to pound ourselves on the chest because I remember three or four they had right in a row at the basket over our midgets where the ball just happened to fall out. We try to play good defense yet we understand how good of an offensive team they are.
create created dribble himself nice people shot stuff tracy
We would like to get some more dribble penetration from people other than Tracy McGrady. It would be nice to get McGrady a spot-up shot that wasn't under duress, where he didn't have to create a shot for himself but where a shot was created for him. Particularly when McGrady is out, we'll try to do more pick-and-roll stuff for Rafer.
paid
We're not paid to try hard. That should be a given. We're paid to produce.
ball bit guard half help ready second sleepy turned
We didn't guard the ball well and we didn't help appropriately. I think they (the Hornets) were probably sleepy a little bit, not ready to play. I had a little bit to do with it. They turned it up in the second half and we had no response.
ball guard help
We didn't guard the ball well and we didn't help appropriately.
early guy judge nba opportunity stick trying wants
Trying to judge a big guy too early is a mistake. If he wants to be an NBA player, he has to stick with it. You never know ? he may get an opportunity here.
brings cannot great guys last passion results rode shoot shooting wave
We cannot shoot the ball. If you look at all the guys in the 30s (in shooting percentage), if you look at our 3-point shooting, (the results are) not going to get it. Last year, we rode the wave of great shooting. That brings passion and energy. When you're not shooting well in today's NBA, it's very deflating.
certainly dependent effort forth great hard mediocre passion though willing win work
Even though we have a mediocre record, you don't have to be a mediocre player. It's all dependent on how hard you're willing to work to win and how much you want to put into it. You may not always win, but you can certainly put forth great effort and play with passion and discipline.
best came conclusion evaluate knew team time together trading
Because I knew we were trading for Keith, I thought it was the right time to get together and evaluate where we were going. We came to the conclusion that it would be best if we try to find another team for (Anderson).
believe chore function good greatness player team teams
Every team relies on greatness down the stretch. However, I do believe that good teams can function efficiently with or without one player. Our chore to function without the one player is going to be tested.
believe eight played saving
We were down 16 and I don't believe in saving guys. So we got it to eight and they called (his sixth) foul. We played a very soft, non-contact game.
bad both component gets great hang huge mentally moments players resilience separates shown strength strongest tough weather
When it gets tough right now, we're not the mentally strongest team, and that's at both ends. We just have to be able to weather some bad moments without caving in. We could have shown more resilience to hang around. That's what separates players in this league: mental strength. Mental strength is a huge component to how great you can be.
atlantic questions team
There have been a lot of questions about the use of their bench. How can you question a team that's in first place (in the Atlantic Division)?
good job
We did a good job defensively after the first quarter.
