Without a doubt, our guards are better now. I'm excited to work with these guys. It's a veteran group with unbelievable experience. Both have won Super Bowls. That's experience you can't measure.

blessing easy exactly guards guys lines saying successful veteran
Like I've been saying right from the start, it's easy when you've got guys who have been there before, been on successful lines and know what it takes. It's been a blessing for me personally, just to have two guards who know exactly what's going on and have that veteran experience.

I think I'm a smarter player. The experience has helped with that. I feel like I'm getting coached. Not taking anything away from my past coaches but NFL football is a totally different thing than college or anything (beforehand).

Obviously, we were 4-12 for a reason last year. I think Jeff did what he thought needed to be done. A lot of the guys he called out aren't here anymore.

It was a very exciting offensive game, ... Hopefully it won't get like that this year. I think our defense will be able to hold them back. If it does get into a shootout, we'll just have to step up to the plate as an offense.

We did some things well offensively against the Bengals, but the problem is that we didn't finish drives, ... We made plays and were moving the ball, but our drives just seemed to fizzle out.

Sometimes I have to pinch myself. I have to get used to being in the NFL. It's an amazing feeling to wake up and appreciate where I am in life.

My thing was, Everybody just relax, ... The game was never out of reach. When things were going bad it was either 11 or 12 minutes left in the game and it was 10-6.

I'll tell you what, ... this is not just another game for him. I guarantee you that. He's saying the right thing, and I won't ever call him a liar. ... But it's more than another game. It always is when somebody is playing Notre Dame.
blessing definitely offense rather study system
I know I definitely would rather have been playing, but it was kind of a blessing in disguise. I'm more comfortable with the offense and the whole system now. I've been able to study my guards, too.
