box open seen sure
It does open Pandora's Box a little bit. I've never seen anything like this, and I'm not sure I like what I see when I look at it.
difference gets initial later minutes
When you first make the initial impact, it still is big and it gets your attention. It's how you feel 30 minutes later that the big difference comes in.
bristol drive environment fans intense matched pull racetrack surrounded unique
When you pull into Bristol, it's a different environment than when you go to other places. How you have to drive the racetrack is so intense and so aggressive. Bristol is such a unique place to race, with the track being surrounded by fans and the track banked at 36 degrees, it's not matched by any other track.
best car counted fast good runs solid stopped tires track
We had a fast car on the track but we stopped and put on tires and we got too tight. On long runs we were really good. It was a solid day for us. We were our best when it counted and that is a good thing.
miles safe thinking
We're going 200 mph. We're not thinking about being safe or we wouldn't be going 200 miles an hour.
bristol jeff lap pace reason rhythm run rusty speed wallace
Bristol for me is very much a rhythm track, especially in race-pace. One reason Rusty Wallace has done so well, and Jeff Gordon, is that those are pace kind of guys. They can run the same lap speed consistently.
chance equal situation team tire
Every team should have the chance to do a tire test. You have a situation that is not equal for everyone.
drivers ok somebody
We have drivers who think it's OK for them to do something, but it's not OK for somebody to do it to them.
great start
I'd like to say that we had a great day and all's right with the world. This is a great way to start the season, but we've still got a long way to go.
absolutely bad best texas track
New asphalt is no good. That's bad for racing. The best thing we can have is a really old track with old asphalt. That's when you have your best racing. And Texas is absolutely the best it has ever been right now.
came cars drive driving drove good junk race rookies step top
When I came into the sport, rookies didn't drive good race cars. You drove junk. Rookies don't step in driving junk anymore. They step in driving top cars because there is no junk. They step in driving really, really good stuff.
diverse fact needs
The fact is, our sport is not as diverse as it needs to be.
I think we have things in place to make a lot of noise.
dig ourselves running wins
It is early, but it's better than being 20th. Right now, we're not having to dig ourselves out of a hole. ...But if we keep running the way we're running we'll get our wins and we'll do what we need to do in points.
