It's hard for me to say how we played. In close games, I worry more about coaching than the players. Alexander Central played hard, harder than us at times, but I'm proud of how we executed down the stretch.

We will have played four different teams three times this year. We played Freedom, Newton-Conover and Alexander Central three times, and now South Caldwell.

We're a young team, we've got to learn from our mistakes. Hopefully, we can get out of a situation like that quicker.

We played with a lot of energy, played hard, but we made some poor decisions. McDowell's one of the best teams in the conference, and we have to strive to get to that level.
