What the European Union has decided is that the place where this has to be resolved is in the Security Council.
We are trying to provide the necessary resources we hope that we will have enough money to support the Palestinian Authority until a new government is formed.
The United Nations should continue to be the center of gravity in the post-conflict period.
We have been talking today on how we can send a message to the people in both communities, the Islamic and European, that we need this not to happen again...We strongly hope that people will be now sensible to understand that.
I would like to express very clearly that the European Union people do respect the countries of this part of the world and don't want to offend anybody.
We have only prepared the ground. If it is possible to continue? .... it's not clear yet. We have to wait until the speech.
I found goodwill in everybody -- and understanding -- but also some differences remain, ... I will keep in touch with all leaders. The government of unity is the best instrument to face the political challenge.
Now we have the most important security presence in the Middle East ever taken by the European Union ... We are entering also the security aspect.
Madrid will be remembered as the time when North America and Europe came together to shape the course of a new century, ... United by common purpose and shared values, the new alliance stands ready to shape a brighter, more secure future.
We would like to see humanitarian aid arriving without difficulty from the European Union ... the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe should be able to enter and play their role.
We will continue to support the Palestinian Authority until the new government is formed and on that we are trying to find the necessary resources.
NATO is resolved to persevere until the violence in Kosovo has ended and a political solution has been reached,
I want to express my personal commitment to continue to strive for a positive contribution of the European Union to lasting peace in the region.
We want to take a decision that is part of a solution, not part of a problem, and therefore it has to be well explained and understood by everybody.
