blow came eyes home looked minute trying
We came out trying to play our game, but they came out really focused. They had that look in their eyes like it was going to be their night. ... For a minute there, it looked like they were going to blow us out on our home court.
blow credit energy gave looked needed seen stayed
For a minute, it looked like they were going to blow us out. We've seen that from them before. But we stayed with it, and give credit to our fans, who gave us energy when we needed it.
looked mistakes
When I looked at the mistakes I made in the playoffs, it was more because I was indecisive. This year, I'll be more deliberate, more assertive.
challenged couple guys looked open run shots
Avery challenged me at halftime. He told me to get aggressive. Guys looked for me, I got a couple of open shots and Dirk put us on his back in that run in the third.
again came continued fourth needed won
We won it again with our defense. In the fourth quarter, we needed stops. We continued to get stops, we rebounded and came back down on the other end and executed.
game took
It was two heavyweights. The game was there for us, but they took it. Give them credit.
situation time
I've been in that situation time in and time out,
court games happen home last lost means playoffs six year
During the playoffs the home court means a lot. Last year we didn't have it and lost in six games to Phoenix. We don't want that to happen again.
defensive gave guess percent
We're disappointed in our defensive effort. We gave up 50-some percent (53.2) shooting. I guess that's first-game jitters.
character contained defining definitely pleased stops team towards year
We're definitely pleased with the way we contained him. The defining character of a championship team is getting stops when you need to and that's something we've been working towards all year long.
broke call came defense exactly good halftime quarter shoot start talking third whatever
We came into halftime talking about getting out to a good start in the third quarter and whatever we had to do to make them call the first timeout. That's exactly what happened. Devin broke down the defense and I did what I do, just shoot the ball.
confident great practices
We've had great practices for late-game situations. We're very confident down the stretch.
ball bodies catch definitely game last late playing time
That was the game plan. We put a lot of bodies around him. Every time he would catch the ball we had a double-team on him to get the ball out of his hands. He's been playing well of late and we definitely didn't want him to put up 30 like he did last week.
bounce builds camp cuts finding high likes season short starts throwing
Me making the short pass, the bounce pass, throwing it up high just finding out where he likes the ball. That's what camp is about. It cuts down on turnovers once the season starts and builds his confidence.
