It depends on how the day goes and what those coaches and teams are focusing on. Our guys that are in there definitely have a shot to move up.

Sometimes when you get out in the open water, it's a little easier to go. You get six or seven people all going the same speed, it's a lot tougher to race.

We got both the relays in the consolation. They're swimming tomorrow. That's what we're shooting for, for them to get another swim. They swam well. We have three freshmen on there and one senior. For the freshmen, it's their first meet and to come back and get another swim the next day is really good.

With the girls, until I sit down and score it out and see where they are at, we're trying to break into the top three with them. They're set up where they have a chance for that.

We have things to work on and we also learned some things.

I was talking to them and telling them how fun it has been to watch them progress. As the season has gone along and they have gotten more experience, they've started racing better and better as the season went on. Then at districts, they did well yesterday and came back and swam even faster today. That's all you can ask for.

Since we're young, it's a good experience to have during the season. The more experience you have swimming against top quality teams and top quality kids, the better you're going to get.
district focusing happy ready resting winning
We were focusing on winning at district but we are resting them and getting them ready for state. I was happy with the way they swam.

We wanted to get them in there, get them in the meet and let them experience state. It's a lot different type of meet. There's a lot of stress and pressure on them. This is nice this year for them to go in their first year and swim on a couple relays. It looks like they got a good shot at swimming on Saturday. The more races you get at that level, the better.

Both on the guys and girls side, tomorrow is where it counts. Those swimmers got to go a little bit easier today. The ones where we needed to have them go and swim fast, those kids swam fast.

It's hard to get them back up and swim in the finals. To be within a second or so in the relay, it's a pretty good swim for them.

It's a good swim. She had a tough heat. We were hoping she would have someone to race with. The three girls that went out in the pack were so far ahead in her heat. It was hard for her. She was swimming on her own.
half kids mean slower swim
When you get to state, half of the kids will swim slower than they did at districts, half are going to go faster. It doesn't mean a whole lot what you see on paper.
close forth guys last won
We won some close ones. They won some close ones. We went back and forth on that. The guys had a little letdown in the last relay.
