came composure double guys jeremy kept next ran run threw trouble
Jeremy came in with us down a run and proceeded to get out of the jam. The next inning he threw he got a double play to end the inning. He ran into a little trouble there at the end, but still kept his composure and got guys out.
base behind both came couple defensive good jam jeremy led plays pleased runners threw
Jeremy came in there at the end and threw pretty well in my book. He got in a little jam at the end, but got out of it. We didn't have a couple good defensive plays behind him that led to getting a couple base runners on. All-in-all I was pleased with both of them.
against came clutch hits key kids knees lower pitcher threw took
We got some big hits against a pitcher like that he was on. Everything he threw was from the knees to the lower thigh. Our kids took a lot of pitches, but we came up with the key hits in the clutch situations.
base came couple eight extra good guys hits home produced tonight
Offensively we came alive. All our guys produced tonight. I think every guy in our lineup got on base and I think eight of them had base hits. A lot of extra base hits tonight good to see that. A couple home runs, those are good to see.
brian bring consistent eddie good great job misused mix pleased threw throwing year
Like they've been all year long, they're very consistent throwing strikes. Brian threw well. We've probably misused Eddie to where we bring him in in relief. Eddie has done a great job for us. He has a good mix of speed. I was very pleased with those two guys.
ball batter foul grand hits next routine
We could have made a routine play on a foul ball and been out of the inning and the next batter up hits a grand slam.
couple five hit plays six
When you give up 14 runs, that's very disappointing. We had five or six errors, a couple hit batters and plays we didn't make.
cost
To me that didn't cost us the game.
came count couple eddie errors extra focused led pitch ready third throw
Eddie came out focused and ready to play. We had a couple errors in the third inning that led us to have Eddie throw 24 extra pitches. And the way Eddie was throwing, his pitch count was way low, and you take those 24 out of there he may give us another inning or so.
bat five four games good grown guys last night played seen swinging
I told our guys we've grown up a lot this week. We've got five games in and we've seen a lot of positives. Offensively we've got a lot of guys swinging the bat well. Defensively, other than last night (at Benjamin Logan) we played very good for four out of our five games.
beat defend happy kids played tournament win won
We're happy to win the tournament and happy to defend the title. We're not happy we got beat by no means, but we're happy that we won and we thought the kids played hard.
coming count eddie felt fourth good hits jeremy order pitch pitcher pull rather strikes third three threw throw tired top walked
We had a pitch count and we felt Eddie was getting a little tired there. I think he walked three batters in the fourth inning. We thought it was a good place to pull him. We had the top of their order coming up for the third time. Jeremy was ready. Eddie threw strikes all day. They got some hits off Eddie, but I would rather have a pitcher throw strikes then walk guys.
balls good guys hit played wind
Offensively we played well. We had a lot of guys make good hits. The wind had a little factor, but those balls were hit hard.
adversity ball below bit brian came composure count hit pitch planning second threw using
I thought Brian threw very well. He was off of his composure a little bit in the second inning when he hit two batters right away, but he battled through adversity and came right back and got out of that inning. He threw the ball well. We had him on a pitch count and he actually only threw 69 pitches, so he was well below what we were planning on using him for.
