Well it doesn't matter how I feel. Sometimes it's a matter of luck. Sometimes you have so many chances and you can't score and other times you feel like every shot is going to go in. That's the way I have felt the last couple games.
I didn't get frustrated - it's a playoff game and I did what I had to do. We're losing, 5-1, and I wanted to play as hard as I can to the last minute. Whether it's smart or not, I don't know. I'm not going to question that.... I don't want to send anybody a message. That's the way I wanted to play. That's the way I'm going to play.
I did what I had to do. Play as hard as I can until the last minute. I knew we weren't going to win the hockey game ... It might be a long series. Every shift can mean a lot later on.
We need to get it right or it's going to be even harder to win hockey games later on. If you want to be good in this league and compete for the playoffs, you need to be good on home ice. We weren't able to do it the last two games.
We had a chance the last four games against easier opponents than Ottawa. It's not a playoff, but it's almost like a playoff game.
It probably happened in the last shift of overtime and I didn't know about it. All you need is a little bit of a slash and they can break. ... That's the way it goes. I was lucky on my goal and unlucky on the penalty shot.
The New York Rangers don't have much experience in the playoffs the last years but the players are different. You have to forget about what happened the day before and think forward, never be too satisfied and never be too angry.
That's special for me, of course. I scored in overtime in Wayne Gretzky's last game here and I scored in overtime tonight. Of course, it's great.
Nothing happened. The coach put me out there for the last 20 seconds, but I didn't even try. I just stood there. That's not what we wanted to do, embarrass the team.
It was probably my last match in the national team. Like for lots of boys.
it's very likely that the World Cup will become the last tournament on the national team for me.
It's not a good situation that we are in. Everybody knows how important these next four games are at home. It might be our season. That's the way I look at it. I thought we started playing better in the last two games. It's just that the results are not there.
That is the last thing I want to do.
We played 50 minutes with everything under control. We just have to learn how to finish the last 10.
