aaron clock easy efficient good inside missed patience second shots wear
We were very efficient in the second half. We wanted to get it inside to Aaron from the start. We missed some easy ones early. Our patience was good in the second half. We used the clock and got shots at the end of the clock, which can wear down teams. We really had good clock management.
good next people question shot worked
I think it worked out well. The way it worked out, you're not going to get a better shot. We couldn't have done it any better. We got as good a shot as you can get on the next play. People are going to question it, but we did the right thing.
consider considered deep few guys hand mistakes shots
We never consider that. Tonight, I actually considered it. I thought about it because they were making so many unbelievable shots. The shots they were making were unbelievable, consistently deep and with a hand in their face. We had very few mistakes out there defensively. Guys were making shots from 35 feet.
anxious battle calmed clock defense good great hard job last played ranked running rushed shots size tested towards win
This was a great win for us. I think we were anxious at first and rushed a bit. But we calmed down and played a great last 30 minutes. They're a very good team, ranked 19th in the RPI, so they're battle tested and very well coached. Their size and versatility make them hard to play against. I thought we did a good job offensively, especially running the clock at the end and getting great shots towards the end of possessions. Our defense still has a long way to go though.
ball best chasing constantly decided jumping keeping running shots sudden summer work year
What he's doing best this year is keeping the ball up around the basket. He's running better. He's jumping better. He's chasing down shots a lot better than he ever had. But it's not like all of a sudden this summer he decided to work on these things. He's been constantly improving.
continue good knew principles shots stick tough
We knew what they want to do and how good they are off the dribble. They make tough shots and, when they do, you have to continue to play defense, to stick to your principles and rules. That's what we did.
good shots sign tough
They made some tough shots early, and we withstood it. So that's another good sign for us.
both shots similar themselves
They're similar players. They can both do things off the dribble. They're both NBA-type guards. They both can get shots for themselves and get shots for other guys.
conference easy feed games high leading open shoot shot talk tough win
They're not leading the conference in 3-point percentage. They win games when they don't shoot a high percentage. They're going to make some 3s. They'll make some tough 3s. We talk about making them all tough shots. We can't give them any easy or open ones. When you give them an easy shot it just going to feed their confidence.
free line shot
They got to the line 32 times and shot 81 percent, and that's a lot of points. They made the free throws.
adversity foul good played shots throughout
I thought we battled, we played hard, we got through some adversity with the foul trouble. We made some shots at the end but we didn't make them consistently throughout the game. They're a good team, but we need to play better.
passing shots
We made our first how many shots. Our passing was the thing. If anything, we got the shots we needed.
guess guys numbers shots
I guess the numbers say it right there. These two guys made shots all night.
ages bad dame few found game glad guys hand hit oftentimes plays shots step
Their shots were deep, and oftentimes we had a hand in their face. Our guys made plays and there were very few mistakes. Some of the shots Notre Dame hit were from 35-40 feet. If you step out on those, it's bad defense. It was a game for the ages and I'm just glad we battled and found a way to win.
