ball played player quicker run
Novak was more of a catch-and-shoot player when we played them in the tournament. Now he can put the ball on the floor. He can run the floor. He's agile, a quicker player. He's just a much better player.
five four games people puts runs separate teams win
You see teams go on runs and win 20 games one or two years in a row. You really separate yourself if you do it three, four and now five years. It puts you on a whole other level. It's something a lot of people didn't think could be done here.
five four run separate sign start teams winning
You see teams go one or two years and get into a run of winning 20 games. You start to separate yourself with three, four or five years winning those many games. It's a sign of where you're at. Now you want to go to another level.
game lose percent running second shoot tough whatever
It's tough to lose a game when you shoot 74 percent in the second half. We have to be better defensively. For whatever reason, we were running into their screens.
ball best chasing constantly decided jumping keeping running shots sudden summer work year
What he's doing best this year is keeping the ball up around the basket. He's running better. He's jumping better. He's chasing down shots a lot better than he ever had. But it's not like all of a sudden this summer he decided to work on these things. He's been constantly improving.
defense hurt points running
His defense was very good. He did not hurt us defensively. If he does that stuff, the points will come. We have to get him running more and to the boards.
anxious battle calmed clock defense good great hard job last played ranked running rushed shots size tested towards win
This was a great win for us. I think we were anxious at first and rushed a bit. But we calmed down and played a great last 30 minutes. They're a very good team, ranked 19th in the RPI, so they're battle tested and very well coached. Their size and versatility make them hard to play against. I thought we did a good job offensively, especially running the clock at the end and getting great shots towards the end of possessions. Our defense still has a long way to go though.
floor grab running says somewhat
He was somewhat light-headed and dizzy, but he battled through it. He wasn't running the floor like he usually is able to, but he still managed to grab 20 rebounds. That says a lot about him as a player.
anxious guys longer ready
I know the guys are anxious to play. I don't know how much longer we can wait. The guys want to play. I'm ready to play. It's been awhile.
guys inside looked paper people
I know when people looked at our inside guys on paper before the season, they wouldn't be in awe. But I always told people we were going to be all right.
believe happen immediate knew lend obviously success timing
I knew she'd have success. I knew it was going to happen, but obviously didn't know it would happen this quickly. The timing did not lend one to believe there would be immediate success in the first year.
knowing looks
I like the different looks we can give. I like our guys' minutes. They're always out there knowing what they're doing.
forward looking respond
I'm looking forward to see how we respond to this challenge.
date graduate kids losing lost past points position problems reached talking
It's more up to date but there's still problems with it. This past year, we lost kids who had already graduated. You're talking about losing points when you've reached your goal. We put our kids in a position to graduate early, and we're being penalized. That's flawed.
