People forget now that (Damon) Stoudamire was having his best year probably in about five seasons before he went out with the leg injury. But they picked up (Chucky) Atkins so it's been able to continue. (Winning 49 games) is a testimony to a general manager who can help a situation.

You have to be happy for them because they were willing to make some bold moves and they paid off for them. They were willing to make the hard decisions. Now, they have all that young talent coming on. And the way they played late in the season, it's a great sign for the future of that team.

It's overwhelming because it makes you reflect on your entire career as a coach, an analyst and a clinician, ... It puts you in a reflective mode from the day that it was announced. You think back over the highs and the lows. The highs far outweigh the lows. There have been all kinds of rewards. I've been in some incredible situations. It's just been a wonderful ride because of basketball.

Then he was an assistant at Kansas under Larry Brown and was just an excellent assistant. He was very organized and liked to work with front-court people. He's very offensive-minded. He was a good half-court teacher and (good) when you got into your half-court sets. When he had his opportunity at Indiana and San Antonio, they did well offensively.
