When we didn't succeed at healthcare reform back in 1993, 1994, I went to work with Democrats and Republicans and we created the Children's Health Insurance Program.
If we repeal [ Barack Obama's health care law] as Donald [Trump] has proposed, all of those benefits I have mentioned are lost to everybody...and then we will have to start all over again.
Mental health is one of the biggest concerns, because now police are having to handle a lot of really difficult mental health problems on the street.
The present system is unsustainable. The only question is whether we will master the change or it will master us.

And please, please, lets us put mental health back on the top of our national agenda, our prisons and our jails are now our mental health institutions.
My two secrets to staying healthy: wash your hands all the time. And, if you can't, use Purell or one of the sanitizers. And the other is hot peppers. I eat a lot of hot peppers. I for some reason started doing that in 1992, and I swear by it.
We currently have a system for taking care of sickness. We do not have a system for enhancing and promoting health.
What we are learning around the world is that if women are healthy and educated, their families will flourish. If women are free from violence, their families will flourish. If women have a chance to work and earn as full and equal partners in society, their families will flourish. And when families flourish, communities and nations do as well.
