I think the chair`s job is to be fair and I think the job of all of the vice chairs is to make sure that happens. And we have really robust conversations about what balance is, and it`s not easy.
We know that we have to have the right combinations of government policies and private sector energy and dynamism. Getting that balance right is what I know President Obama has tried to do, and at every turn he's been stopped.
The United States compared to a number of our competitors is the only government in the world with any kind of safeguards, any kind of checks and balances. They may in many respects need to be strengthened and people need to be reassured, and they need to have their protections embodied in law.
For most businesses, America is the most important asset on their balance sheet.
We also have to look at how we help families balance the responsibilities at home and the responsibilities at business.

We have to do more to make it easier for parents to balance work and family. If you left college with a ton of loans, it`s not enough just to make college more affordable. You need help right now with the debt you already have.
Don't confuse having a career with having a life.
We need a return to transparency and a system of checks and balances, to a president who respects Congress' role of oversight and accountability.
