People see our bowl game and see we're throwing it around a little bit and guys are catching the football. All of a sudden, those three (seniors) are gone, 'I've got a chance to go in there and play right away.' That's always a good thing.

He's just very energetic. He said to me early on that he wanted to be a head coach who was going to be a good recruiter. He was a good recruiter as an assistant. We used to bump heads all the time in Florida and when you went against him you knew you had to - quote, unquote - bring your 'A' game to beat him. He brings a passion to the recruiting part of it. I like that he is a guy who will get his hands dirty a little bit in the recruiting process as far as being out on the road a bunch.

Brandon has been playing pretty well in a lot of different areas and, obviously, on special teams, ... His game as a receiver is starting to form up. You can see it on film. You can see that he's healthy again. He's running with speed and making some good cuts.

You get to learn who's in the next class and you hear things, maybe a kid is on the rise. For Bret, Paul and myself, it was pretty much a city a day.

That was the only thing that people didn't know. Obviously some teams don't like small receivers so he'll be at the mercy of the team.

We got the guys we went after. That's the bottom line. Our percentage, I don't know what it is, but there weren't many kids we brought to campus that we didn't get. I like the fact we were able to do that.

Take football totally out of the equation and he is a quality young man. He is an unbelievable individual. He is a guy you want to be around. He just leads with the way he conducts himself and the way he handles his business.

We're looking for him to develop a level of consistency where we can count on him for whatever it is, try to define his role and see how far he can take it. He has some good tools and now he has his opportunity to take a step forward and we're hoping he can do that.

When you watch them on tape, ... they look like cutout paper dolls as they're backpedaling. They all look the same, and that's the way they're being coached. I'm very impressed with the things that they do, and we'll get a good indication of where we are after this weekend.
