People are very much wrought up about the Communist bugaboo.
In my generation, this was not the first occasion when the strong had attacked the weak.Communism was acting in Korea just as Hitler, Mussolini, and the Japanese had acted ten, fifteen, and twenty years earlier. I felt certain that if South Korea was allowed to fall, Communist leaders would be emboldened to override nations closer to our own shores.
The attack upon Korea was an outright breach of the peace and a violation of the Charter of the United Nations. Well, I wouldn't say I was in the 'great' class, but I had a great time while I was trying to be great
The president is the representative of the whole nation and he's the only lobbyist that all the one hundred and sixty million people in the country have.
That precedent should continue-not by a Constitutional amendment but by custom based on the honor of the man in the office.
