early hopefully seemed soon tough
He's a tough pitcher. You want to come out early and hopefully get him a little rattled. Get the lineup going as soon as you can. It seemed to work.
love pressure
I always feel like that. That's what I love about the game. There's always pressure in baseball.
ball good helped job kept
He just kept the ball down, did a good job, made his pitches. We didn't do a good job making adjustments, so we helped him out a little bit.
early focusing kept last point scoring slow start
We got to (Chen) early and kept going. We got into the groove. We all kind of got off to a slow start last season, so we have really made a point of focusing on scoring this season.
game
I'm still going to play the game the same way. I want to be here for a long time.
against guy
I was just hitting. With two strikes, you just go up there and battle. That's what you do against a guy like Santana -- you battle.
knew saw tried wait
I saw it. It was right at me. It just got in the sun. I knew it was going to be in the sun. I tried to wait for it to come out and I just never saw it.
juice trying
We were up early, but it was still 4-0. In this game, that's not too much of a lead. I wasn't trying to juice it. I was just trying to put it in play.
job
We don't do that. We know what we've got to do to get the job done.
team
That's the way we've been all year. This isn't a team that panics.
carrying good guy hitter hot job middle nice time
He's making them count. He's done a good job of carrying this offense, being in the middle part of the order. He's been a big guy for us. What he's going through now, he's doing what we all know he can do. It's nice to have a hitter like that hot at this time of year.
dive head
If I didn't dive for it, it was going over my head anyway.
figured room strikes took
I figured with two strikes that I didn't have a lot to lose, ... With (Travis) Hafner up there I had a lot of room to move, so I took off.
