I understand that kids look up to me, that some people might have gotten sober because of me.
A lot of people, think that they can solve their problems with antidepressents, and that I've noticed, being a bigger issue. it really strips people of who they are. All your quirks, all your problems, even your depressions and failures, that's what makes you, you.
Your going to come across a lot of shitty bands, and a lot of shitty people. And if anyone of those people call you names because of what you look like, or because they don't accept you for who you are. I want you to look right at that motherf****r, stick up your middle finger, and scream F**K YOU!
Um, lots of people grab my ass. I'm actually starting to get this thing now where people grab my package. That actually happened once in Boston, it usually doesn't happen. We went over to England and it happened at almost every show. I don't really enjoy any kind of invasion of privacy like that I guess. Grabbing my package is obviously a total invasion of privacy I'm not into that at all.
It's cool if people want to make movies of stuff, but I'm really interested in the comics.
I was talking to Cecil [Castellucci], who writes Shade, and I was saying to her, and she was saying the same thing, that I'm not even the same person who wrote the first issue of Doom Patrol, and that was six months ago. I'm a totally different person now, already. It's weird to look back at stuff, but it's an honor that there's a legacy of people who still keep it in their heads. It's really cool!
'Watchmen' is a politically charged story, and it explores exactly what a hero is, how the world would treat them and how they would react. It was the first time I read a superhero story that explored that situation. These are very real people with very real problems.
Yeah, obviously we use vampires as a metaphor for something else, something deeper than just the supernatural. But there's just something about the bloodsucking walking dead, that can say so much to people. There are really so many people trying to get control over you on a daily basis and steal your soul in some way, take a part of you..
People have evolved into something selfish, greedy and intolerant. People are unaccepting, because of religion, race, gender, sexual orientation... I've seen it in punk clubs, and I've seen it in the world.
The only thing I learnt in high school is that people are very violent and territorial.
I think there needs to be people that are doing something different in music. There's a need for that as much as there's a need for a scene.
I would like to continue to make art by being able to do what I love and have that make it possible for me to support my family. I'd like to make people happy, show people a good time, and hopefully inspire some people.
So many people treat you like you're a kid so you might as well act like one and throw your television out of the hotel window.
