...the role of the military is to fight and win war and, therefore, prevent war from happening in the first place.
Not every action requires military action. As a matter of fact, military action is the very last resort for us.
We're certain there are people that can't stand what America stands for... We're certain there are madmen in this world, and there's terror, and there's missiles and I'm certain of this, too: I'm certain to maintain the peace, we better have a military of high morale, and I'm certain that under this administration, morale in the military is dangerously low.
And as a result of the United States military, Taliban no longer is in existence.
Coalition forces have encountered serious violence in some areas of Iraq. Our military commanders report that this violence is being insticated by three groups.
This will not be a campaign of half measures, and we will accept no outcome except victory.
What our enemies have begun, we will finish.
These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of America's resolve.
I gave them a fair warning
The best defense against terrorism is a strong offensive against terrorists. That work continues.
If you've got somebody in harm's way, you want the president being -- making advice, not -- be given advice by the military, and not making decisions based upon the latest Gallup poll or focus group.
And we will win the war, and there will be costs. But the military folks understand that, and so do I, and so does the Secretary of Defense.
The threat from Iran is, of course, their stated objective to destroy our strong ally Israel. That's a threat, a serious threat. It's a threat to world peace; it's a threat, in essence, to a strong alliance. I made it clear, I'll make it clear again, that we will use military might to protect our ally, Israel.
I do not think witchcraft is a religion, and I do not think it is in any way appropriate for the US military to promote it.
