angry bunch game great guys starts turn
Tenacity. We're great guys in the clubhouse, but when the game starts we turn into a bunch of angry individuals.
bodies came card eventually gets guy last man marked names near running seeing
You keep seeing names getting marked off and marked off the lineup card and eventually it gets down to the last guy on the totem pole. I was near the bottom. We were running out of bodies on the bench. It came down to the last man standing.
definitely guy heard might people takes win wrong
You heard things, and everyone has reputations and they might have rubbed some people the wrong way. Everyone has their own quirks, but you want to play with a guy who's competitive and will do what it takes to win games. He's definitely one of those guys.
defending
Who wouldn't want to play for the defending world champions?
dreams imagined stuff
It's the stuff dreams are made of. If you imagined a dream, that's it.
ball beat steps tag took
The ball beat me by about two steps as I was going down to slide. I took a chance, hesitated a little bit. Fortunately, (Rodriguez) went for a swipe tag and that let me get in there.
feels game hearts imagine played
We've all played this game and had our hearts broken. I can only imagine what it feels like at this level.
golden
Those are golden opportunities. A strikeout right there would have been better than what I did.
baseball call count hand last whatever
You look back at the last 150 years of baseball and you can probably count on one hand how many times that play has worked. So you can call it luck, you can call it savvy, you can call it whatever you want.
anybody bags city deserves investment puts represent stays team
Bags and Biggio. Anybody who stays with one team that long and puts that kind of investment into a city deserves to represent that city and that team in the World Series.
baseball decent faced helping knowing
That's helping me keep my sanity, knowing I faced decent pitchers.
high innings sit
You sit around for 14 innings and something like that happens. I didn't know if I got it high enough.
animated bonus brings brutal changed clubhouse days energy feed field game guys honesty huge screwed
The brutal honesty that he brings to the game and to the clubhouse is why we play so hard. He's going to tell you when you're doing great, and he's going to tell you when you screwed up and did something wrong. He's intense. He's passionate. I don't think anything changed from the days when he was a player. That's a huge bonus for us. He's as animated on the field as he is off. Guys feed off that energy that he has.
ahead beat runs score stay team win
The way we win ballgames over here is to score just enough runs to stay ahead of the other team and beat them.
