appreciate bring brought earn free nobody option pick pride remains teams whatever
They brought me in and told me they were probably going to pick the option up. You always want to earn whatever you get. I take a lot pride in that. He didn't have to bring me in today. I appreciate that. When I was a free agent, a lot of teams called and I really didn't answer. There was only one place, and that still remains the same. I don't want to play for nobody else but the Yankees.
anybody bottom care happy kindness plenty services sides teams test trust
I don't want anybody to take my kindness as a weakness. Like I said before, this is where I want to be, but don't test me. It never was a done deal. It was a possibility. I'm happy about that. But there's two sides to that. On one side, I trust you, but don't play me. I don't care who it is, if it's the Boss, if it's him, don't play me. There are plenty of other teams out there that want my services ... that's the bottom line.
baseball business family life played strictly teams yankees
I've played for teams that were family-oriented organizations. They made you feel like family. The Yankees are strictly a business. Baseball is your life and everything else is secondary.
anybody change regardless
We know what this is about, regardless of what anybody says. They've had their way with us pretty much this year, and we have to go out and change that in our favor.
capable continue playing
We're playing like we are capable of playing. If we can continue to play like this we'll be fine.
except fame game good hall hear humbling mechanics screwed stay
My mechanics are so screwed up, there's nothing you can really tell me except stay back. Reggie was on me to stay aggressive, stay positive. This is a humbling game and like he said, if it was easy, he'd still be playing. That's good to hear from a Hall of Fame hitter.
season start
It doesn't matter. I look at it like this, the start of the season I'll do what I've always done. That's it.
looks truth
I tell him the truth. I just tell him how it looks - how he looks: 'Dude, you look like an addict.' But he doesn't see it.
demon escape genuinely meant wants
I think he genuinely meant it. I think he really wants to do the right things to escape this demon that's got him.
felt good last strong
It did help. I didn't have to think about defense. I felt good today. I felt strong in my last at-bat.
bad box corner feeling step time took trying turn walk
I thought I would turn the corner when I didn't play. It wasn't feeling that bad when I'd walk up stairs, so I thought it was getting better. Once I took one step out of the batter's box trying for a double, I couldn't do it. I don't have time to be waiting.
heal helped night
My wounds, ... It was like a cortisone to heal these wounds. I rubbed it on every night and it helped me.
help prayers receive seek
My prayers are with my uncle. I pray that he will seek and receive the help he so desperately needs.
quicker
That would be devastating to me. I should be able to come back quicker than if it was a hamstring. I'm going to get the anti-inflammatories and see how I feel tomorrow.
