last oklahoma question sure team watching year
Oklahoma has more question marks, I think. If I'm them watching film I'm not sure what kind of TCU team I'm getting. Last year was an uncharacteristic year for us defensively.
bigger competition conference difference front good instead kids mexico move places players questions received since stronger understand usa west
We have received questions from players all over the West Utah, California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico since the move was announced. We understand how good the competition is, that we're going to places like BYU to play in front of 60,000 instead of some places in Conference USA to play in front of 6,000. Bigger stadiums. A stronger league. Stronger nonconference scheduling. It's all a big difference for us and yet our kids are very excited.
against beat chance fortunate gained gave happy lose oklahoma people winning
We feel very fortunate and are very happy to be 1-0. I don't think many people gave us a chance to be 1-0. But you lose everything you gained winning against an Oklahoma if you go and get beat by SMU.
credit though worse
Even though it's only 70, the humidity is a lot worse than you give it credit for.
best gets goes job lose policy starting
You do what's best for the team. But we've always had a policy that you don't lose a starting job because of an injury. We'll see how it goes when he gets back.
game
To be honest, I think that game probably put us in this situation,
ahead defense game group offense until worry
You always worry about your offense, but our offense is a little ahead of our defense right now. This group is ready, but you never know until game time.
expecting great handled sure
I thought he handled that very well. Then we were able to get him some bootlegs, and I don't think they were expecting him to run. ... I'm not sure he's a great runner, but he's mobile.
biggest coach everybody good hard head kids ups win
For me, this will probably be the biggest win as a head coach for this program. You've got to know everybody will have ups and downs. This is real important. These are all my kids now that I've recruited. It's good to see them play hard and play in that kind of arena.
convention fight national
One of the things I'll fight when we have the national convention is to keep the coaches' challenge.
coming defense jump knew
We knew coming in that we were going to have a dogfight, and we had to jump on them early, ... We did that, and our defense was swarming.
class forefront full games great michael season senior seniors since special win
This senior class is special since it was our first full class. To win 11 games this season is a great tribute, and seniors like Quincy and Michael are on the forefront of this program's success.
came conference national win
We came back here to win two of three, and these are the two I wanted to win. One's for conference and the other is for national respect.
becoming bit condition degrees gets hardest heat hope next ready start week
Next week will be the hardest week that we'll have. For me, I hope it gets to be about 85 or 90 degrees again. We need a little bit more heat to start becoming condition ready and keep working.
