effort football gave great kept kids knocked penalties played proud second tech tough virginia
We got back to Virginia Tech football in the second half. We knocked off the penalties and played good, tough football ... I thought our kids gave great effort and kept battling, and I'm proud of that.
accurately against athletic ball both consistent couple decisions good kids last plays sean thrown tough
Sean's been the most consistent both in getting into plays and making decisions and making throws. Sean has thrown the ball more accurately than he did last fall. He's made very good decisions. He is against a couple of quarterbacks who are more athletic than he is. So it's not so much as what he's done wrong, but the other kids have done some things right. That's why this is a tough decision.
battling chasing coming ended football gave great hung kept kids playing proud team tech virginia win
I told our football team at the half, if we play like Virginia Tech plays, we win the football game. That?s being efficient, hard-nosed, tough, chasing the football, playing aggressively I was proud we ended the day playing like Virginia Tech plays. I thought our kids gave great effort. They hung in there and kept battling and kept coming back.
against bet both close family goes hard kids knowing school sister
I think both of those kids will play as hard as they can against each other. Knowing that family, I bet it'll be close afterwards, too. ... His sister (Christina) goes to school here. The whole family is close.
equivalent football game kids monday night personally
I personally like it, ... I think our kids like it. I think it's the equivalent of Monday night football in the pros. You're the only game on or you're the most important game on TV.
compete interfere spent time together
We have to compete on the field. That's just the facts. That doesn't interfere with all the time we've spent together before.
ahead decided line looked moving offensive talked year
We had talked about moving Duane a year from now, but as we looked at the offensive line we decided to go ahead now,
allow bend blow braces bunch butler knee mind operated question save seen tough
I've seen those knee braces save a bunch of knees. There's no question in my mind that Reggie Butler would be operated on right now if he hadn't had that knee brace on. It was a tough blow right to the knee, but the brace didn't allow the knee to bend to where something would be completely torn.
best group
I've said it before, that this is the best group of kickers that we've ever had.
ball distance good great hang kicking nic pleased
I've really been pleased with Nic Schmitt. He's kicking in a good rhythm, kicking the ball quickly. He's getting great distance and hang time.
good three
The stats aren't very good, but I thought the way our quarterbacks played, you feel good because each of those three made some really good plays.
Things are in place for us. I think this thing is just going to keep growing.
came dropped efficient lack needed quarter second third win
The win was good. I didn't think we were as efficient offensively, especially in that second quarter, as we needed to be. Some dropped balls, some lack of execution. I thought we came back in the third quarter and got some things done.
