Frank Mitchell Beameris a retired American college football coach, most notably for the Virginia Tech Hokies, and former college football player. Beamer was a cornerback for Virginia Tech from 1966 to 1968. His coaching experience began in 1972, and from 1981 to 1986 Beamer served as the head football coach at Murray State University. When something bad happens in a game, when something kind of goes bad, our offense comes back and answers, ... We are special in that way. We've been able to answer, and what we do from here on out is what's going to count. But we got some things going.

When you know who it is, you kind of want to protect him. For getting a feel for who the guy is overall, how he is going to respond to pressure, we have to let him go live. The guy who has poise, a calmness about him when things get tight . . . that certainly is a key, key issue for us right now and we need to get as many answers as we can.

There have been some things that he would like to have back, but it doesn't surprise me that he's had a good year. He's a smart guy and understands. I think Marcus is just a player. It's in his genes.
