ball excellent florida hit home jeff kid range reminds saw second share state stronger
He reminds me of Jeff Kent -- I saw him in A ball in the Florida State League. Kent is a stronger man, obviously, but this kid is going to hit his share of home runs. He has power, and he's going to be an excellent second baseman. He has more range than Kent.
care developing five gives guy runs six taking
Here, it is not a developing situation. Not yet. If a guy gives up five or six runs in two innings, I'm taking him out. I don't care who the guy is.
bad competition face fiery leagues minor reduced
He's a fiery type. When we had him in the minor leagues in Montreal, he was in competition with everybody, the umpires, the opposing teams. He reduced that a lot. I like Milton. Too bad we still have to face him.
innings last runs three
We had one six-run inning, but that was it. There wasn't a whole lot going on. We did the same thing last night; we scored all our runs in one inning. That being said, I'd like two or three innings of scoring.
barry bonds easier found manage
I found out that it's a lot easier to manage when Barry Bonds is in the lineup every day.
barry bring entire fact force given guy last season
Given the fact that Barry didn't play practically the entire season last year, we'd like to see him here early. But we can't bring a guy here by force before the first of March.
fun given guys several spring
For several reasons, this spring has given a lot of guys opportunities to show what they've got. And they're doing it. It's been a fun thing to watch.
ball ground keeping last threw
If anything, he threw too many fastballs. He's a ground ball guy. He's still keeping the ball down better than he did last year.
expect happen seen tomorrow wonder
I expect a lot with the bat. What I see in BP is the same BP I've seen before. ... I wonder what's going to happen tomorrow in his at-bat, the reception.
care champions compete country cuba cup earned fans good loses olympic players region stature wins
I don't care if Cuba wins or loses every game. I just want to see them play. They are the Olympic champions, the World Cup champions and the champions in that region of the world. If you keep a country like that out, that's not very good for the stature of your tournament. Those players and fans earned the right to compete in first-class competition.
care good offensive team
I don't care how good an offensive team you have. If he is missing, a lot is missing. ... I know I feel better, and I'm not even in the lineup.
affect affected barry bat believe guy main veteran
I don't believe it will affect this veteran team. The main guy is Barry and if he does his thing with the bat and is not affected by it, I don't think we'll be.
answer intense
I do not want to think about it. I will answer that tomorrow. It has been a very intense game.
believe deal month playing rush swinging
I believe the way I see him swinging he may not need more than those at-bats. Now playing defense, that's something else. We'll see how it goes. We're not going to rush anything. We have more than a month right now to deal with it.
