I had a job when I was 10. I started living on my own when I was 17 or 18. I've earned my own money; I've traveled the world. What would I rebel against?
The character is everything that I felt strongly against - she's superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral. She's all of these things and I realized that I hated her. How do you play someone you hate? But I found it really interesting, and it gave me a whole new insight into what my job, or my role as an actress, could be.
I do things in my own way, but I've never felt any need to rebel. To be honest, I've always had far too much freedom. I had a job when I was 10. I started living on my own when I was 17 or 18. I've earned my own money; I've traveled the world. What would I rebel against?
To be honest, I've always had far too much freedom. I had a job when I was 10. I started living on my own when I was 17 or 18. I've earned my own money; I've traveled the world. What would I rebel against? I've had so much freedom, sometimes it was hard. My parents wanted to protect me, but they had no idea how to. I had to learn as I went and make my own mistakes. I went from being totally unknown and never acting professionally to being in a major movie and being very famous. It all happened so quickly, I didn't have any time to work things out. It's been pretty scary at times.
I'm so close to her that I feel that I don't have to act any more. It seems like I'm barely doing anything sometimes. She turned into someone that a lot of people can identify with. She's a great role model.
I look OK and it becomes that amazing transformation which it really is for Hermione.
I loved doing it because I can relate to what she goes through. I so know that frustration where guys can be so insensitive....Hermione is so insecure about herself and she's never really had any attention from a guy before that when she sees Viktor looking at her it's like, 'Is that guy really looking at me?' ... She does not know what's happening to her and she gets caught up in this whirlwind.
There has been a lot of speculation abut whether we're going to outgrow our parts but it works out really well because each one takes about a year.
For goodness sake, Hermione and Ron just need to get it together! It's just been so long now!
It's absolutely amazing. I just can't believe it.
The only way I could tell the story was to intensify it, and shed anything that didn't serve that, ... It all flows very well, so you kind of forget what is actually missing.
Let's be honest, I have enough money to never have to work again.
I'm a very heady person; I'm in my head a lot.
I think the actresses who are really successful are the ones who are comfortable in their own skins and still look human.
