Are you stressed? Are you so busy getting to the future that the present is reduced to a means of getting there? Stress is caused by being "here" but wanting to be "there" or being in the present but wanting to be in the future. It's a split that tears you apart inside. To create and live with such an inner split is insane. The fact that everybody else is doing it doesn't make it any less insane.
You can be very much aware that when you are stressed, it always is a sign you have lost the present moment. So, you can choose to re-enter the present moment.
Probably, if you are successful in this world you are stressed, and if you are a failure, you are bored!
You can be effective in this world without stress.
The whole world accepts that being stressed is the normal way to live.
Stress is a form of suffering. Look at your body and see what stress does to the body and its functions - what it does to the heart, the circulation, the immune system, the digestive function, the liver.
Stress is caused by being 'here' but wanting to be 'there'.
Stress means there is something wrong, and you are not aligned with life.
Any action that arises out of stress is of low quality, and it contributes to human suffering. You are making yourself and others suffer.
When you want to arrive at your goal more than you want to be doing what you are doing, you become stressed.
All negativity is caused by an accumulation of psychological time and denial of the present. Unease, anxiety, tension, stress, worry - all forms of fear - are caused by too much future, and not enough presence. Guilt, regret, resentment, grievances, sadness, bitterness, and all forms of nonforgiveness are caused by too much past, and not enough presence.
Stress is caused by being here but wanting to be there, or being in the present but wanting to be in the future. It's a split that tears you apart inside.
Let's say you have to catch a plane, and you are packing your suitcase and moving fast. Most people would call that stress. Most people live stressed like that all the time.
Stress is extremely harmful to the body.
