We were overdue for a bounce after some very oversold conditions. Maybe we are getting to a point where the market is beaten-up enough.
Every time we played somebody, except maybe for Seton Hall, they're going to have big crowds there. When you play somebody like Southern Miss, there might be six people there.
I - and I think many other observers - thought Ichiro would be the one to say no and Hideki would say yes. I think he's grateful to (George) Steinbrenner for the new contract and the confidence in him. He feels more of an obligation to Steinbrenner than he does to Japan. It's not about the money, it's about the vote of confidence. I think he thought it would be rude to leave the team in spring training. If he hadn't just signed the contract, maybe he would have gone.
I don't feel like we have this big huge advantage at home. I feel a little more distracted at home for whatever reason. Maybe we've gotten used to playing on the road. The biggest difference, for me is that I'm not going to have a very long drive home after the game.
Maybe it was the Penn State game - and he did it playing tailback,
It's only a matter of time. He'll have plenty of 40-plus yards runs on the record by the end of the year. I know he's anxious to get some, and he will. It's a function of persistence, holding to the integrity of the landmarks, trusting your speed, and maybe somebody holding a block downfield for a split second longer. It will happen.
There was a small boy at the airport, maybe two years old, who came over to me and stood in front of me. I gave him a record that you can only get from me. He laughed and stared. For a second I wished I was no one else but myself. I'll never see him again but he was the most beautiful thing I've seen in a while.
He's definitely auditioning for a head coaching job, maybe not here but he's going to get a head coaching job. He's a great coach, a players' coach and he's going to give it his all. He played the game and played it well.
I'd get to know him a little bit better, maybe go on a few dates, ask him about his future plans. But I'm an independent woman and I like an independent man. I'm not necessarily interested in someone who doesn't know how to take care of himself and expects me to take care of him.
I'm excited that the team understands the importance of this game. Maybe this weekend was a wake up call for us.
We've been talking to some of Nordstrom's online users, who are very, very important customers, and they talk about how when they go online sometimes they shop and sometimes they look for fashion inspiration.
We just played bigger people the last two games. We're not going to play 6-10, 6-10, 6-10, 6-10, 6-10 Thursday. I think we should be all right.
We missed a lot of tackles, and to beat a team like that you have to do a better job of tackling.
We went after the worst of the worst and told them, 'You will not commit crimes here any longer,'
