The amendment goes far beyond just defining marriage between a man and a woman. What it does is prohibit recognition for all unmarried couples in the state.

We're growing in our efforts and abilities to work on multiple issues at once. Ultimately, we will prevail, but there are a lot of obstacles in the way. We need to educate people and elect more fair-minded representatives.
