There's no question you have to try to keep the ball in front of you as much as possible without getting fouls. The perimeter (defenders) have got to do a little better job on that now that we don't have the luxury of letting them go down to Alonzo.
One thing that was different about tonight is that we executed down the stretch. We did not turn the ball over like we have done in the previous games. We took care of the ball and we executed on offense. We rebounded the ball at the end of the game also.
We moved the ball well tonight. I think we probably didn't swing it, maybe eight times or so. It just looks like you're not moving the ball when you are missing shots,
You (the media) might have made him (O'Neal) mad. I think you all lit a fire under him. He's been playing well the last couple of games. We have to find him more. We came out trying to get him the ball early. He led us to victory.
It's just getting the ball in your hands and making a play. I've got confidence in myself and my teammates have confidence to get me the ball.
It's just about getting the ball around the area of the rim. Some guys hit some shots, we all do, that you just throw up and it goes in. But most of the time you're trying to get it around the area of the rim and give it a chance. You never know what can happen if you get it on the backboard.
It's a little sore, as expected. Playing a lot of minutes. I had the ball in my hand a lot, jumping on it a lot. But it's getting better daily.
I'm a playmaker, and I'm going to score. At the end of the day, my job is to put the ball in the basket.
Man, anytime the ball goes through the basket. It doesn't matter if it's a jumper or a drive. Any time the ball goes through the basket, and it's going through consistently, it's demoralizing for any opponent.
I took it upon myself to be more aggressive. I wanted the ball. Coach gave me the ball and I just tried to attack (and) make plays, just take it to the rim and see what happens.
They have the ball 100 percent of the time. They're doing a great job with their pick-and-rolls. It's very tough to guard them.
Not only am I confident in that situation, but Shaq has given me that go-ahead to say the fourth quarter is (my) time. When you get that, I don't worry about making a mistake. When I drive and his man comes, then I throw the ball to the rim. As long as I continue to do that, he'll continue to be happy.
I didn't have to look for my shot today, so I was able to do some other things. Coach put the ball in my hands tonight to make things happen and see what I could do.
When a guy's 6-8, raises as high as he does and fades on his shot, you just try to do the best that you can to put a hand in his face. He made big shots for them.
