Johnnie B. "Dusty" Baker, Jr.is an American Major League Baseball manager and former player. He is currently the manager for the Washington Nationals. You don't know what could transpire. You might need both of them. Some of it depends on the progress and health of the other guys.

With his health conditions of the past, we sort of considered that it might be better if he doesn't play. It's not necessarily final at this point but he's leaning toward that.
A lot of it depends on the strength of your starting pitching. If your starting pitching is good, you won't need 12 too much. Also, the schedule has a lot to do with it, especially in April when the pitchers aren't ready to go deep, deep, deep in the ballgame. You don't even know at that time if you'll need five starters. You might only need four. You hate to lose that guy's endurance by not pitching. It'll work itself out by the time we get ready to leave.
You might think it matters to some of the guys who are still in contention. But at the same time, how many guys think that far in advance?

Stealing isn't just speed. Most of it is knowing the pitcher and knowing what a guy does. He might dip his head before he goes to the plate or he might drop his hands slightly before he goes to the plate or his feet are narrow when he goes to first or he might slide-step.
I'm going to talk to them all together. Come up with something before we leave from here. It might go to Sunday, but it probably won't go that far.
