I guess I'm a little disappointed in the president who says unless you're willing to do everything my way I will characterize you as being unwilling to do anything. Those are not the fair terms for debate. And quite frankly, Mr. President, you know better than that. You know how much our heart is in educating these children,
We're perfectly willing to spend more money on educating American people if the control of that money is in the local communities, under the local school boards,
What we're not willing to do is to get ourselves into some complex negotiation with the White House where they initiate some increase in spending ... We just don't believe that is a dignified process,
We will set aside more money for Social Security than what the president did in his budget; there's not a doubt about it.
We will wait until we can have a clear understanding that we will pass a law that will help families,
I've been at the table now for two weeks,
Even $10 billion would be insufficient to begin fixing six years of Clinton-Gore neglect of armed forces,
every year there is that magic moment when everybody says we can agree. That moment is at hand. We do not want to deny our members the opportunity to seize that moment.
Even if we could afford to cover every single drug bill, we shouldn't try, ... Consumers who can afford to do so should pay the small routine bills.
The suspicion some people have about the president's motives in this attack is itself a powerful argument for impeachment, ... After months of lies, the president has given millions of people around the world reason to doubt that he has sent Americans into battle for the right reasons.
Sometimes you get judicial rulings that gladden you and sometimes you don't,
I would like to think that no American president would even consider using the military to help him remain in office, ... But the fact that Americans are expressing these doubts shows that the president is losing his ability to lead.
Microsoft is right to appeal this ruling, ... The government's case stands on the shifting sands of a rapidly changing marketplace. Their premise is quickly becoming antiquated. Dwelling on the past only prevents the development of new technologies that bring benefit to consumers.
We can't be constrained to the $1.6 trillion package that the Bush people put together a year ago...we can do more.
