andy bring chance focus fourth great job sat stay stops third
It got a little interesting out there, obviously. After the third set, when Andy sat down, I just said, 'Hey, there's a chance here they're going to bring out all the stops here in the fourth set. Just stay calm. I'll stay calm. Focus on your tennis.' Andy did a great job of that.
andy besides bit break finished guy guys help higher hit huge improved job kick last mixing moving mph percentage serves service sixth terms tougher trying
Besides the huge first serve, he's actually improved his service games. Last year, he finished sixth in first-serve percentage, which is unheard-of for a guy with that big a serve. Andy did a much better job of mixing his first serve, not always trying to hit the 140 or 150 mph serve. He can do so much with it, in terms of the kick serve, moving it around a little bit more. ... It's going to help him get a higher percentage of first serves in, and it's going to be tougher for guys to break him.
best enjoy moment played showing tennis
I think he played some of his best tennis when there was kind of an in-between those two, when he's out there showing energy, having fun, kind of strutting his stuff, so to say. I think it's important to enjoy the moment and go out there and really let it fly.
basically game plan stayed
I think he basically stayed the course. He had a game plan going out there.
aggressive style whoever
We need to be aggressive in our style and take it to those guys. Whoever does that is going to come out on top.
best both mutual sees talked
When we talked it was a mutual decision. Obviously, I was disappointed, but we both want what he sees as best for him.
both change guys
Not a lot is going to change for us. Both guys feel good. They're going to come out and try to take it to these guys.
grand loss open point
Unfortunately, the U.S. Open loss was very tough. For Andy, the Grand Slams are really at this point what matters.
best both certain coaches figure hard player realized stages tennis
This decision, it was something that was hard for both of us, but we both realized that this was the best thing for Andy's tennis right now. There are certain coaches that are better in certain stages (of a player's career), so I think that as a player you have to figure out which coach is going to be best for you where you are at that moment.
confidence game improved point transition
His backhand is much improved ... as well as his transition game and his volleys. He's getting to a point now where he's very comfortable up at the net. And now it's just getting the confidence to be able to do it in big matches.
amazing bit body extra home moving rest spend wants weeks
Because he didn't go down there, that was two extra weeks he was able to spend at home and actually rest a little bit and get his body healthy. Right now he's in amazing shape, and he's moving so well out on the court. And I think that's one of the things he's going to have to do to get back to where he wants to be, which is No. 1 in the world.
listened treated
He really listened to what I had to say, and he was great, always treated me with respect.
few guys quite running runs seen status terms ties
In terms of running the team, I mean, it's pretty much the same as it always is. I've been, obviously, to quite a few ties with these guys and seen how Patrick runs the show. So it's pretty much status quo.
amount capable coming court feats great next playing ridiculous superhuman terms time
These guys, especially Massu, Is capable of superhuman feats in terms of being able to be out on the court a ridiculous amount of time and coming back the next day and playing great tennis.
