caring difficult flawed fuzzy guy likable people soft tricky troubled watch widely
What's widely interpreted as being likable is caring and soft and fuzzy and I just think that's boring. People don't want to watch a guy who's hateful. That's a tricky thing - to make a guy interesting and difficult and troubled and flawed but not hateful.
believe character curious glimpse greater guy interested opposite personal somebody sort stand tricky
The show is not about his personal life, ... but you get curious about that, so we wanted to get a greater glimpse into who this guy was. It's really tricky to find someone to play opposite him, to stand up to him, somebody that you would believe this sort of character would be interested in, and would be interested in this character.
careful picked thick
We get picked apart. So you have to be careful - and you have to have thick skin.
ahead obviously quarter
The quarter obviously was very strong, ahead of pretty much everybody's expectations.
carry engulfed entire gladly noise pavement people protection runway tear
We have an entire neighborhood completely engulfed in noise and a runway protection zone. I have people that would gladly go and tear up that pavement and carry it away for free.
again changed changing network thank
FOX, to their credit, changed it. I will never again thank a network for changing a character.
cannot characters closing essence explore fallen found love simply throw
We're not closing any doors. What we've found is everybody's so fallen in love with these characters that we have to explore it, but we cannot simply throw out the essence of the show, which is the procedural element.
convincing cry emotional plays simple stuff sucks turning
does that emotional stuff really well. She's just plays it in a simple way, in a convincing way. Without turning things into melodrama, she sucks you in and makes you want to cry for her.
blue calls care everybody eyes house idiots leave people talked
Everybody has idiots at their job, and those idiots are talked about when they leave the room. House just calls them idiots before they leave the room. But it's not about what House says; it's about what he does. He's heroic, but he doesn't care what people think. And those blue eyes don't hurt.
larger products somewhat
It's somewhat disappointing. With some of the newer products that they have, they're working on larger transactions and larger transactions, by definition, take longer.
fit keeps people week worked
It's not a fit that people would have necessarily predicted, but it's worked out very nicely. And every week it keeps getting a little better.
deliver great humorous somebody
It's great having somebody that can deliver the humor.
fit resisted stories weird
We've resisted a lot of weird stories because they don't fit the show.
bore medical watch
There is a procedural spine, but I wouldn't watch it for the medical stories. Frankly, it would bore me.
