I was real proud of the way Morris pulled off the the two home runs, and the way Cooper gave up just three hits today. He pitched a good game.

Morris and Cooper both hit the ball hard and drove in runs. Cooper has been swinging a hot bat and hitting the ball extremely well. Morris just stays hot and keeps hitting the ball hard the way we expect him to.

It was a good win. We had one bad inning where we lost our composure. Cooper threw the ball well, but we had to manufacture runs.

We did really well down there. We got better as the week went on. We got solid pitching performances out of Philip Dean and Patrick Cooper down there.

We were a little more patient, letting him pitch more in that inning and weren't hitting the first pitch.

Patrick lost his rhythm in the fourth and had only one bad inning. He was able to work out of jams in two of the first three innings. He's a quality pitcher, though, and he'll bounce back.

He is only a sophomore but he did a nice job keeping us off stride all day. We have always prided ourselves with being able to put the bat on the ball but we didn't do it today. We haven't struck out that many times in a game since I have been here. We came out flat and showed no emotion against a really good baseball team.

I'm proud of our guys for the way they competed. We faced a top-notch pitcher today and our guys had no fear. They think they belong.
