attention believe confident control game guys media moving plan separate time
By (the) time you get out there and it's game time, you're confident in your plan and you believe you're going to be successful. The guys who can separate what you can control and what you can't control are the ones who keep moving and don't crack. It's a battle, though, because of all the media attention and scrutiny.
accept believe coach decision easy falls head might personal proper somebody time
As you might imagine, this was not a very easy decision from a personal standpoint, but I believe it is a proper decision at this time for being a professional. Somebody has to accept the responsibility. I am the head coach and that falls on me.
bowl fish locker might outside ricky within
I really think that Ricky was put in such a fish bowl in New Orleans, ... And now he's in Miami, and he's not in a fish bowl. He's really not. From an outside standpoint, he might be. But not from within this locker room.
bobby knight love players plays
I love that expression, I think Bobby Knight said it: It's not how many plays you can run. It's how well do your players play. That's about where we're at right now.
attention bowlers bringing bullets center fans games looking media pressure pro ricky understand win
I'll take the pressure off Ricky, ... I'll take the bullets for Ricky right now. When we made the trade, one of the first things I told him was, 'We've got Pro Bowlers on defense. You don't have to be the center of attention here. The media and the fans are going to try and make you that. But understand that's not how we're looking at it. We're not bringing you in here because we haven't been able to win any games here.'
committed follow guys people players reason week work
I'll follow those guys. They're the best. Guys like Zach and Jason, that's the reason you coach. Players that work like that and who are committed like that -- people that you can trust, week in and week out. That's what makes it fun.
pitching putting ruled
I haven't ruled out putting Dorin back there and pitching him the ball.
incorrect job might nice official putting replay skeptical stopping taking
I really like it. I was a little skeptical the way we were doing it here and putting everything on the replay official in the box. But they've done a nice job if they thought that something might be incorrect of stopping it and taking a look.
eliminate football preach win
I preach to the players: 'You've got to eliminate distractions if you're going to win football games,'
acting pulled west
I pulled into West Allegheny and we were 1-4 but I went in there acting like we were 5-0.
best guys season until weeks
I probably won't do that until two weeks before the season begins. The best guys will play.
guarantee ricky run start teams williams
I guarantee you teams are going to start off saying, 'Don't let Ricky Williams run the ball,'
along football further good guys job newspapers preventing reading team thinking
I must not have done a good enough job myself preventing our guys from reading the newspapers and magazines. We were thinking we were a little further along or a better football team than we showed.
amount freshmen time win
They know we're being fair. We're doing everything we can to win every game, but there's no set amount of time that these freshmen are going to play.
