I was glad to see him be our first winner because he's our foundation. He was our go to guy last year and it was nice for him to be the first Pembroke wrestler to be a champion.

Record wise, I knew we would have a winning record coming into this season, but I figured maybe we'd finish around 14-8. We had good kids, seven with experience, but we did much better than I thought we would. We did great, a lot better than expected. I certainly can't complain.

We took a bit of a gamble early on. We knew they were better than us. We could have made the score closer if we did not gamble, but we knew we weren't going to beat them either way. We had to give it at least a try.
couple expected impressive knew last maybe weeks
The last couple weeks have been real impressive for us. I knew we'd better, but I expected maybe 11-7 now, I didn't see 15-3.
